We asked Beth Nimmo—the mother of Rachel Joy Scott, one of the 13 people killed in the Columbine shootings—her thoughts after the Orlando horrors. Here’s what she wrote to the family and loved ones of the Orlando victims:
“It is with a very heavy heart that I express my deepest condolences to the families and community of Orlando. Your pain is unbearable and your loss inconceivable. We weep with and for you.
“The only hope I can offer is there will come a time when you won’t cry all day, the nights won’t be sleepless, and the mention of your lost loved one will not bring pain, but instead, you will remember the wonderful joy they brought into your life.
“The road to healing is long and it takes courage to fight for that healing, but through the love of God and the support of others it can and will happen. You are loved and God is holding you close. You can trust Him.”
